There are a number of Nigerian pastors that release prophecies for the year around New Year every year. One of them is Apostle Johnson Suleman, the General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries. And about a month ago, he released 50 shocking prophecies for the year 2017.
I have arranged these 50 prophecies in the five (5) major ANM (ApocalypseNow Media) categories: Economics: Geophysics; Geopolitics; Religion; and War. For these are the main categories we see God prophecy about throughout the pages of the Bible.
It is very interesting to see that Apostle Johnson Suleman himself is – in dramatic fashion – taking center stage in the unfolding of some of his own prophecies. This is a summary of how the drama unfolded: Earlier in January 2017, he received threats of imminent attacks by “unknown” Fulani herdsmen. When the apostle made some fiery rhetoric on the issue, the video went viral on social media, and evidently reached the eyes/ears of the powers that be. A subsequent attempt by the Department of State Security (DSS) to arrest Apostle Suleman while he was in Ekiti State was blocked by the intervention of the governor of the state. Now apparently, Apostle Suleman has been “invited” to Abuja by the DSS. A message supposedly from the apostle’s ministry, Omega Fire Ministries, cautioned Christians from engaging in any civil protest over the issue and called for them instead to storm heaven in prayers for the peace of Nigeria.
The statement from Omega Fire Ministries is pasted below. But first, here are the 50 shocking prophecies for 2017, divided into the five (5) ANM categories. Note that some of the prophecies may appear more than once if they apply to more than one category. For example, the 14th prophecy says “2017 budget will have crises”. Such an event would be both economic and political in nature and ramification, and hence it is listed both under the “Economics” and “Geopolitics” categories.
ECONOMICS
5. Crude Oil to flow in Northern Nigeria.

9. Things will pick up a bit in Nigeria but hunger will persist.

41. I see a new leadership for the APC in Nigeria.

45. Nollywood to pray. They will get help but will lose two major people. The Yoruba movie industry too but prayer can avert it.
47. Kogi state to organize state prayers to avoid major deaths and natural disasters.
48. Edo state; major celebration but pray against road crashes.
49. I see presidents being removed in Africa, I see presidents being installed.
50. Two times, Nigeria’s vice president, Yemi Osinbajo, will face removal from office. They will alienate him and they will make attempts to remove him. But God will humble Buhari in 2017.
RELIGION

ACTION STEP: THE PATH TO PEACE
The Bible has very much to say about prophecy. For instance, Scripture says that the purpose of true prophecy is to give glory to Jesus Christ and to edify, encourage, and comfort the hearer. The Bible tells us to embrace prophecy while cautioning us to test and weigh it to avoid deceit or error:
16 Rejoice at all times. 17 Pray without ceasing. 18 Give thanks in every circumstance, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 19 Do not extinguish the Spirit. 20 Do not treat prophecies with contempt, 21 but test all things. Hold fast to what is good. 22 Abstain from every form of evil. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-22, Berean Study Bible)
Two or three prophets should speak, and the others should weigh carefully what is said. (1 Corinthians 14:29, NIV)
Generally speaking, some prophecies are established and certain, meaning that God has spoken what He intends to do and no activity by any personality can stop it. But some prophecies are not established. Such are conditional, and require the prayers and even obedience of the faithful either to avert the disaster or to bring about the fulfillment of the blessing. And in some cases, the intensity or severity of the event prophesied can be impacted by prayer. For instance, because of prayer, the judgment spoken may still come, but not as severe or deadly or as long as it otherwise could have been.
So, for those who are given to prayer, consider these prophecies in your prayer closets. And consider the plea from Omega Fire Ministries as we see tensions between the State and Church or between Muslims and Christians flare up:
ATTENTION!!!
As against the earlier call for Christians to come out enmass for a protest march to the Abuja DSS office on Monday with Apostle Johnson Suleman, we wish to take a different position on the matter for the sake of Peace.
The Department of State Security (DSS) has sent a formal invitation to Apostle Johnson Suleman to appear before its officials on Monday 30th January 2017.
We ask all Christians to stay away from the planned protest and PRAY for the Nation. We can almost agree that this is not a war but an invitation.
Apostle Johnson Suleman is a man of God and has the Nation at heart. We do not want anybody or group to use the current situation to create anarchy in the system.
He appreciates the Love and Support received so far since the attempted arrest, he wishes that we crown this up with a CALL TO PRAY rather than the protest march.
Once again, we urge Christians to PRAY FERVENTLY for the PEACE OF THE NATION and the nullification of the plans of the enemies of this Nation.
