DENZEL WASHINGTON
I absolutely love Denzel Washington‘s critique of the mainstream media in December 2016. Some reporters wanted to bait him into condemning what was apparently a fake report that alleged he supported then President-Elect Donald Trump. Denzel, however, countered with a general critique of the media’s penchant to get stories out first even if the stories are inaccurate and destructive.

The coverage by Fox News’ “The O’Reilly Factor” observed that Denzel’s comments perfectly reflected sentiments of the American public. Only 6% (six percent) of Americans, according to O’Reilly’s guest from The Hill, approve of the mainstream media’s performance. That figure used to be higher decades ago – as high as 72% public approval during President Nixon’s Watergate scandal.
The next clip fuses Denzel’s criticism of misinformation in the mainstream press with general criticism of excess usage of social media by the present generation.
So then, when it comes to the mainstream media and social media, both content producers and consumers have to get the balancing act right. So those reporting the news should aim above all to be truthful, not just to be the first to get (sometimes false) stories out there. And consumers need to be more discerning in the information they consume, and not allow social media usage to get out of control.

Kevin Sorbo is perhaps best known for his role as Hercules in the mid-to-late 1990s. He publicly came out as a Christian in the late 2000s. Kevin Sorbo has supported President Trump in his Tweets over the years.
And in throughout 2020, one can see from his Tweets that he is squarely on the side of freedom and ending draconian Covid19 policies (curfews, lockdowns, mask mandates, etc) that endanger personal liberties.
