THE NEW RAPPROCHEMENT BETWEEN THE VATICAN & RIYADH

Some interesting reforms coming up in Saudi Arabia, brought on by the new generation. For example, less restrictions for women, even the opening of a cinema after a 35-year ban (with the first Western movie shown being the recent “Black Panther” block-buster).

Well, an article by rt.com (Russia Today) published on May 4, 2018 suggests Christians living in the Saudi kingdom may see greater religious freedom too. This is because a recent arrangement between a Vatican cardinal and top Saudi clerics paves the way for building of churches across the Gulf nation, as well as for biennial Christian-Muslim summits.

On the one hand, if Christians can be allowed to openly practice their faith without fear of corporal punishment or death sentence, that seems to be a good thing from the viewpoint of Christians living in Saudi Arabia.

On the other hand, if we consider the bigger end times picture, and the various #Chrislam (Christianity + Islam) type meetings / summits / projects that have been taking place around the world, this “rapprochement” perhaps says something of the power the Vatican (head of the Roman Catholic Church) wields in both the secular and religious realms, and of its role in nudging the world in the direction of a one world religion.

And as we have seen, the Vatican has for years now – SHOCKINGLY – been positioning itself to be something of a power broker in terms of encounters of an “extra-terrestrial” nature. Clearly, the Vatican will be a key player in religion and geopolitics in the last of the last days.

For now, here are excerpts from the rt.com article:

Saudi Arabia will no longer be the only Gulf state with no public Christian places of worship, after an agreement was signed between local Wahhabi leaders and a Vatican cardinal to establish a cooperative relationship.

This is the beginning of a rapprochement… It is a sign that the Saudi authorities are now ready to give a new image to the country,” one of the most senior Catholic officials, President of the Pontifical Council for Inter-religious Dialogue Cardinal Jean-Louis Tauran, told the Vatican News website after returning from Riyadh.
