In this case, the ‘elite’ who is promoting lawlessness is the California State Governor. How? By having the police fine theft victims (such as Target mentioned in the shorts video below) for reporting crimes done against them. This is apparently their strategy for making the official crime numbers appear lower than it actually is in reality.
Note that lawlessness refers to the absence of laws against things that would ordinarily be considered criminal. That is somewhat different from lawbreaking, which refers to breaking or acting against well-established laws.
Note also that 2 Thessalonians 2 warns us that deception and lawlessness would accompany the rise of the ‘lawlessness one’ (i.e. the Antichrist). Just take a closer look at your state and your country and ask yourself which individuals, parties, and entities are promoting next level kinds of lawlessness and deception.
