ROAD TO WW3: CHINA & US LOCK HORNS OVER THAAD

The stage has long been set for an East Asian front in a very possible World War 3. The imminent deployment of the so-called THAAD (Thermal High Altitude Area Defense) missile defense system in South Korea by the US military-industrial complex is throwing more gasoline to the proverbial fire.

South China Sea: There are long-standing, recently escalating tensions among China, Japan, a few other East Asian countries, and the US (by virtue of its military alliance with Japan and South Korea especially) over ownership of islands in the South China Sea – with China being most desperate to have its way in the region as a matter of preserving its nuclear deterrence system.

North Korea’s Nuclear Ambition: Of course, North Korea has always been a hot issue – especially in regard to its long-standing bid to develop nuclear-tipped intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) capable not only of taking out South Korea, but of striking the continental US as well.

Enter THAAD: The US has used this nuclear threat as pretext for not only engaging in joint military exercises with South Korea, but also for deploying a missile defense system in South Korea.

The US government has been claiming self-defense as their motive for deploying THAAD in South Korea. Washington also cites as motive the protection of its allies in the region like Japan and South Korea. However, these actions by the US military-industrial complex seem to actually push the region further along a downward spiral towards armed conflict, as they unnerve not only the already paranoid, arguably crazy North Korean leadership but China as well, and thus ultimately escalate the arms race and military build up in the region. For the question is (especially from China’s point of view): Is this missile defense system really aimed at containing North Korea, or at neutralizing the nuclear arsenal of the People’s Republic of China?

China’s Response: Now a threatened China says it will take measures against the THAAD US missile system that recently arrived in South Korea, warning that the US and Seoul will bear the consequences.

Alternative Media Angle: Canada-born, Japan-based journalist Benjamin Fulford has suggested several times that such military brinkmanship between the US and China over the South China Sea and THAAD is really intended to give the US powers that be greater leverage in the ongoing, behind-the-scenes negotiations and battles for control of the global financial system.

ANSWERS OF PEACE: WHAT CAN ORDINARY, PEACE-LOVING CITIZENS DO?

Well, as the saying goes, “Evil wins when good people do nothing”. If you believe the Albert Pike Letters are true, you’d know there are forces in this world – the “monolithic conspiracy” that JFK spoke about – that want a third world war. And they have certainly tried to get this done over the years through other fronts – the Ukraine and Syria in particular. Thankfully, they failed. But certainly preparations are being made in the Asian / Pacific front via THAAD and other measures for such a war.

Civic Action: Peace lovers and those opposed to US encroachment on South Korea’s national sovereignty have protested against the THAAD deployment.

Prayers and Dialogue: Apathy is a sure-fire way to let profiteering warmongers have their way in the end. Even if one doesn’t live in either South Korea or the US or China (i.e the countries most immediately affected by these developments) and civic action like protests or reaching out to locally elected representatives are not an option, one can still be informed about the issues. People can always share their views in the matter in media platforms or in their social circles.

And there is always prayer to a God that is in many ways better positioned to keep the various power brokers and actors in any situation in check.

Come and see what the Lord has done… He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth. He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the shields with fire. He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
~   Psalm 46:8-10

Personally, I pray that cooler heads and peace prevail in this region, lest the unthinkable should happen!

Peace for the region would mean continued peace for the world, whereas military or even nuclear conflict there could easily go global given the military alliances these countries have in place. So in respect of China, America, North Korea and South Korea, we would all do well to take the words of the prophet Jeremiah to heart:

Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.”
~   Jeremiah 29:7
